Need For Speed High Stakes is pc game full download the only game in the Need for Speed series I've played, so I can not compare this game especially the others in the series. What I can say is that NFS: High Stakes is a great little game even now, four years later. The graphics look a bit dated compared to today's technology, however, there is still enough detail to the cars and around the race track to make me happy. Although, obviously, I'm not very good at keeping the car on the track, I think the controls are pretty good. The only annoying thing is that pushing the joystick up sounds the horn, and ended up hitting the arrow to a degree every time I move from left to right and vice versa. One feature I like is the ability to look behind the car during the race, although usually sends me right into a wall or a tree, when you really managed to overtake another car, I almost I have to look back and watch you eat my dust.
The game has been blessed with many camera angles. After each race, the game will automatically show a replay of the whole race (unless you choose to jump), switching between the ten different cameras. This means that I can look and see what all my horrendous accidents were. In many ways, the best part of the game is not real competition. The first thing you have to do is choose a car, and there are at least nineteen cool speed demons at your disposal (and still later, as long as you have enough money to move up in the world). If you can not decide what car you want, you can take a trip to the car showroom and hear all kinds of details about the specifications and features of each model available. Serious players can create, update and customize any car to be his / her pride and joy, however, players have the option serious high stakes to put their money where their mouths (ie card races dismissal) - will miss the race, lose your car. The tracks are quite different and require different driving styles, when you have to deal with a series of sharp turns, you better be a better driver than me.
Different environments help every single race, and you may have to fight the bad weather, the additional passenger traffic and the darkness of night. Of course, you do not have to go out there and run away, you can take all the time you want to run test laps and get a feel of each track. You also have the option to compete in individual events or compete in tournaments. My favorite aspect of this game, however, is the option Hot Pursuit. Here, you can choose to run from the law or promotion within the police car (which can vary depending on the country in which you are driving) and play Bandit Smokey other.
You can even hit against and almost ruined fleeing speeders in their search for law enforcement. Whichever side of the law you choose to play, you are aware of all kinds of great police radio chatter. Speeders will have to elude a police alone, but a whole group of them, and coordinate their tactics police chase. Obstacles, spike strips, and a group of cruisers who seek to block all we can do everything an exciting challenge. Need For Speed: High Stakes is getting a little long in the tooth now, as is the original Playstation console, but the game is still very fun to play when you just want to fuck a while. Serious gamers will unlock cars and tracks that more casual players can not see for themselves, but any novice can pop in the CD and entertain himself / herself with a world of fun features.
